SHORT AND SWEET SYDNEY THEATRE FESTIVAL – 2024 WEEK ONE @ TURNER HALL THEATRE

S+S SYDNEY 2024 Heat #1

15th-18th February 2024

The world’s biggest short play festival is back in Sydney.

Revitalized and bold festival, headed by the new festival director Liviu Monsted.

SHORT AND SWEET Sydney 2024 aims to focus on new and unique ideas with an added emphasis on spotlighting the individual writers behind the works and their process.

SHORT+SWEET Sydney 2024 is a celebration of play writing and the creation of original theatre. Over 70 plays will feature in the span of 8 weeks, all competing for a spot in the Gala Finals where we award the best of the best.

This year brings a wide range of new works to the forefront, sharp comedies, existential dramas, surreal horror, poetry, musical, political and inspirational narratives drive the season.

Prizes being awarded weekly (at each Sunday show), a dedicated pride program spotlighting some of the brightest creatives in the queer community and a new award category for works that have a truly unique concept.
