The journey of the Archibald Prize, now in its 98th year, is about to start.

This coming week, between Monday April 1 and Friday April 5,  the Art Gallery of New South Wales  loading dock will be a hive of activity as entries arrive from across Australia, either personally delivered by artists, their agents or via art courier companies that have been known to deliver shipments of upwards of 150 artworks at a time.

Works are submitted to the Gallery’s lively team of packing room staff who process all entries, headed up by Brett Cuthberston.

This year the Australia’s favourite art event, the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes will be exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from 11 May to 8 September 2019 and will then tour regionally.
