MARGARET FULTON: QUEEN OF THE DESSERT is a musical is based on the biography of Margaret Fulton ‘I Sang for my Supper: Memories of a Food Writer’  which tracks her life from a school girl to national cooking superstar who sold 1.5 million books.

The musical by Doug MacLeod (Comedy writer) and Yuri Worontschak (AFI Award winning composer) is having its Sydney premiere at the Bondi Pavilion theatre this month.  The show was critically acclaimed at its premiere in Melbourne and traces Margaret’s life from working in a factory during World War 2, living in the Rocks as a single mother, becoming Australia’s first master chef, falling in and out of love, making a fortune and almost losing it.

The production coincides with the 50th anniversary re-release of the original Margaret Fulton cook book.

MARGARET FULTON: QUEEN OF THE DESSERT from Bondi Theatre Company [Facebook] plays for 10 performances only from Friday 12th October with a special morning show on Wed 17th at 11am  which will be followed by guest VIP Q & A and afternoon tea.  There is also a ‘Babies Welcome’ performance the following Wednesday.   Bondi Theatre Company is also running a cabaret season for audiences who want a ‘stay late’ night out.  You can see details at their website.
