GENESIAN THEATRE COMPANY TO STAY AT CURRENT PREMISES FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Good to hear some good news on the Sydney theatre scene for a change. During the week Roger Gimblett on behalf of the Genesian Theatre Company announced that the Company will be staying at  its charming, historic premises at Kent Street for the duration of its 2019 season.

This was the result of an agreement that the Theatre Company reached with the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney and the new purchasers.

Gimblett advised that the Company was particularly delighted with the extension to the lease as next year will be a celebratory year as the Theatre Company will turn 75.

Certainly a grand age  for any Theatre Company and Gimblett promises that it will be a great year for  theatre lovers with a good program of plays including its annual Agatha Christie offering.

The Company is soon to announce its 2019 season. which the Guide will report on when it is revealed.

Gimblett also advised that the Company is still in negotiations for a new venue come 2020 and will advise its loyal subscribers as soon as a deal has been struck.
