The Korean Film Festival in Australia (KOFFIA) makes a triumphant return in 2023, showcasing an impressive line-up of highly acclaimed and captivating Korean films across genres, showcasing the diversity of Korean film making.

Opening night film is The Night Owl is a captivating thriller that delves into the story of a day-blind acupuncturist whose unique nocturnal vision leads him into a perilous royal intrigue.

You’ll long remember Remember, a gripping tale about an octogenarian Alzheimer’s patient seeking revenge for his family’s loss during the Japanese colonial era. Mind eaten away by a tumour and Alzheimer, revenge is the last thing remembered by Freddie, a part time worker in a fast food joint.

Bearing grievance from Japanese colonial times, the now widowed Freddie is ready to put his plan of retribution into action, killing collaborators who have profited by their kowtowing. To Freddie’s fermenting mind, their hubris and hypocrisy are grounds for justifiable homicide. His retirement plan is to retire a list of elite profiteers.
