UNITED IN PRIDE : A THOUSAND BEAUTIFUL THINGS

Leading global law firm Clifford Chance has today unveiled the latest instalment of its annual Arcus Pride Art exhibition, dedicated to celebrating the unique perspectives of the LGBTQ+ community and celebrating its culture of inclusion. Arcus is the firm’s global LGBTQ+ and allies network dedicated to creating an integrated and inclusive space and giving colleagues the choice to be open and out.

Hosted in collaboration with Brookfield Place and Glamazon (Amazon’s LGBTQ+ Employee network) and curated by Dr. Liz Bradshaw, the Sydney-based exhibition will see the lobby of Brookfield Place and the Wynyard station stairs in the CBD filled with spectacular artworks from queer and diverse artists under this year’s theme, United in Pride.

The exhibition, named A Thousand Beautiful Things, brings together a group of artists whose work explores everyday symbolism, aesthetics, and queer points of view.

Since its first exhibition in 2007 in New York, Clifford Chance’s annual Arcus Pride Art exhibition has become one of the largest corporate supported exhibitions of art works by LGBTQ+ and supporter artists around the world, with events and exhibitions taking place across the firm’s global network each year.

The Australian exhibition is the first in the firm’s global network for 2023 and aims to continue a legacy of inclusion – a core value instilled by Clifford Chance.

Clifford Chance Australia Managing Partner, Richard Gordon, says, “We are proud to have our team host the first of the 2023 global Arcus Pride Art events and this year we welcome clients, friends and family as well as the public to celebrate the unique identities and perspectives that make us stronger as a collective. We share a common objective that illuminates the path forward; we are, together, United in Pride.”

Exhibition curator, Dr. Liz Bradshaw, says: “All the works are great examples of how queer art and queer people inhabit multiple worlds and look at the dominant culture through a queer lens.”

The exhibition is open to the public from Monday, 13 February 2023 in two locations across Brookfield Place, 10 Carrington Street, Sydney and the Wynyard station stairs at Wynyard Station, and will close on Friday 3 March 2023.
