ULTRA-UN-SOUND – Loani Arman & Celeste Barber

LOANI ARMAN_2 (1)Happily unemployed, Loani Arman is now eight months pregnant with her first child and delivers her bold new comedy show, ULTRA-UN-SOUND, and is very ably supported by Celeste Barber, who warms up the audience by explaining her motherhood expertise, with comedic but true tales of her four children and her two pregnancies.

Engaging laughter filled hour, filled with delightful insights of the joys of pregnancy, from explaining exactly how to get pregnant, how to enjoy the continuous morning sickness and explaining the need for writing your birth plan, plus all the joys of wanting to have vaginal delivery and its funny aftermath. Finding comedy in how some strangers unknowingly torment first-time expectant mothers, with horror stories about labour.

At last year’s festival, her first solo comedy show ”LADY BITS” was a sold out success. Loani Arman has had eight months of her first pregnancy, to prepare and now deliver her just perfectly timed stand-up comedy material, cleverly presented as a deep and meaningful comedy expose about the joys of being pregnant. ”I have not given you permission to touch my body, ask first, please remember that I am not fat, I am just a little pregnant.” All about living with her parents, the changing relationships with her partner and extended family as her baby grows within her body, and how to choose a new name for each fresh outpouring of new body fat, plus wondering as to precisely what will happen when her waters break.
