The premiere of Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett was the central event of the launch of this year’s Sydney Fringe Festival. The principal speakers announcing the events to come were Kerrie Glasscock, CEO and Festival Director, Michael Rodriguez, 24 Hour Economy Commissioner  and City of Sydney Councillor Emelda Davis, representing the Sydney Lord Mayor.

Some fifty shows will be held over a range of venues employing approximately 2,500 cast, crew, security personnel and administrators. Amongst the invited guests were celebrities, drag queens and other bohemian Sydney characters who were fed and watered by a circle of food trucks which will also be a feature of the Runaway Gardens throughout the Festival.
