Hill & Harbour Drawing Day

Thursday 7 January  OR Thursday 14 January

10am-3pm, Ages 7-12

Inspired by the drawings from our current exhibition First Light: The art of Peter Kingston, students will view the exhibition and then explore different drawing media whilst exploring Observatory Hill. Students will create their own mixed media drawing of the harbour to take home. (weather permitting)

Painting Sea, Sky and Light

Friday 8 January  OR Friday 15 January

10am-3pm, Ages 7-12

Come to Observatory Hill and create drawings to then paint their own impression of sea, sky and light in an acrylic landscape painting on canvas. Inspired by the paintings in our current exhibition First Light: The art of Peter Kingston, students will view the exhibition and then explore Observatory Hill and create drawings to then paint their own impression of sea, sky and light in an acrylic landscape painting on canvas. (weather permitting)

Cost: $100 (includes all materials) – The Gallery accepts Creative Kids vouchers now!

Classes are conducted by experienced artists.

COVID Safe – so bookings are limited

What to bring:

  • Covered shoes and an apron or old clothes – If you have an aprons please bring them with you otherwise please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting MESSY!!
  • Your lunch  & a drink – we will have a break in the middle of the day for ½ hour.
  • Your excitement, imagination and creativity!

The Gallery is  a registered Creative Kids provider which is a great opportunity to let kids discover their passions and learn new skills. Parents of children aged 4.5 – 18 years old can apply for a voucher with a value of up to $100 per child per calendar year to put towards the cost of their child creative activities. 

The workshops have been supported by a Cultural Resilience Grant from the City of Sydney and the Gallery thanks them sincerely for their support.
