STC ARTISTIC DIRECTOR KIP WILLIAMS ANNOUNCES FURTHER CANCELLATIONS

STC Artistic Director Kip Williams has announced that due to the extension of Sydney’s stay-at-home orders until 28 August, two more STC productions ‘White Pearl’ and ‘The Picture Of Dorian Gray’ have been cancelled.

Williams has advised that both productions will now be part of the STC’s 2022 season and will feature early in the new year. The Company will launch its full program for 2022 at its launch in a few month’s time.

As part of the extension of the stay-at-home orders, the Company has also had to cancel the first performance of its production A Raisin in the Sun due to take place on the 28th August.

Williams said, “This is a challenging time for everyone across the city and I hope you are all doing ok under these difficult circumstances. We’ve come through this together before and we will once more. I am so proud of the work that STC has brought to our stages in the last year – something that didn’t seem possible at many points. I know that, with your support, we can get back to sharing theatre together as soon as possible.

“If you would like to support our community through this crisis, please consider a donation to STC or the Actors Benevolent FundA donation to the Actors Benevolent Fund will provide immediate assistance to theatre artists and practitioners currently affected by this crisis. A donation to STC will ensure that these artists have future opportunities to share their remarkable talents. We aim to emerge with as many opportunities for artists as ever. It was only thanks to support from our community that we were able to do this before, and I hope you’ll join us again.”
