WHITNEY, WHAM, KATE OR KYLIE? GIVEAWAY TO AN 80’S CABARET

Think George, Whitney, Madonna, Cyndi, Prince, Cher, Kylie, ACDC, Tina! Classic 80’s songs with some performed as you’ve never heard them before.  It’s 80’s cabaret time in Mosman, with Mosman Musical Society’s latest production at Mosman Art Gallery.

There’s much excitement about the theme for this collection of 80’s hits, SIMPLY THE BEST. The society’s cabaret format has proved to be a great hit in the last four years, covering a variety of genres and periods.

The hardworking team at Mosman Musical Society have loved working on the production, the hardest task being to narrow down the song list! Director Anthony Young said “Within the 80s there are a number of different genres, and we all had our own favourite artists and songs. We started with close to 100 songs, and narrowed it down to the selection we’ll be performing, which covers a variety of styles, and features well known songs from Australian, American and British artists.”

The cast features over 30 singers and dancers and a six piece live band. Performers come from all over Sydney, although many are local to Mosman.  Audience members are encouraged to dress up in your best 80’s outfit, with prizes for the best dressed (donated by Latham Cusack Property).

SIMPLY THE BEST from Mosman Musical Society [Facebook] is six performances over two weekends at Mosman Art Gallery and Community Centre, 1 Art Gallery Way, Mosman, NSW 2088.  You can book a table or single seats, enjoy a welcome glass of sparkling wine and cheese platter for each table included in the price, and bring your own wine to get into the spirit of the evening and a trip down memory lane!  Tickets here.
