maureen – harbinger of death @ riverside theatres parramatta

MAUREEN the razor-tongued storyteller, beautifully framed by her velvet drapes, now invites everyone into her bohemian living room, located in our Kings Cross, set in our past. Entertaining delightful journey, very entertaining one-liners, intimate recollections, just so many dead friends to talk vividly about, and fully explore all their interesting lives.

Co-created by Nell Ranney, and with quite exquisite storytelling skills, we meet writer and performer Jonny Hawkins, who effortlessly transforms into MAUREEN and cleverly delivers poignantly funny solo monologues, usually monologue pieces with individual short stories, sometimes requiring two voices.

Interesting audience participation is an integral part of the comedy experience. Comedy inspired by Jonny Hawkins’ long-time friend, a true eccentrics, fully self-described “working class glamour queen”. Highly Recommended.
