KINKY BOOTS @ RIVERSIDE THEATRES PARRAMATTA

Packemin Productions – Kinky Boots – Grant Leslie Photography

Mostly inspired by true events, this is the best musical show in town, or rather you need to drive to Parramatta to experience this fabulous outstanding cast. Perfect performances by all the cast including the choreography, a fabulous musical theatre night, with a full-house standing ovation at the opening night performance. Nat Jobe is Lola, and fully inhabits the roles of Lola and Simon.

Charlie Price inherits a failing shoe factory from his father. Trying to save the men’s shoe business, by manufacturing a quality line of high-heeled boots, cabaret performer and drag queen Lola becomes the boot designer extraordinaire, producing amazing high-heeled boots. Charlie and Lola both discover that they have so very much in common.

Cyndi Lauper has a huge musical range, allowed her to create quite unique songs, all with emotional heart – ranging from funk, pop rock, new wave and a tango too. Her well remembered show tunes, concern the important things in life – boots and fashion, work/personal relationships, the ability of people to choose to change their minds.

I have previously seen the Broadway version, and then the West End version, I definitely enjoy all the music, the lyrics, and most especially the underdog story that is KINKY BOOTS. Having certain unrealistic expectations as have already compared the Broadway version and then the West End version, this “Packemin Productions” of KINKY BOOTS is the superb and stunning production, that you must see this year. Highly Recommended.
