ActionAid Australia presents FROCKING HILARIOUS  a night of laughter for women’s rights.  Tickets go on public sale on Friday but you will need to be quick. 

ActionAid Australia and the Sydney Comedy Festival are bringing together a line-up of Australia’s funniest women — yes, all women! — to raise funds and support ActionAid’s work on women’s rights around the world. Following the huge success of last year’s gala the show returns to the prestigious Sydney Town Hall!

Following 5 massive galas, Frocking Hilarious, now in its sixth year running, is all about celebrating the power of laughter. The Guide covered the show in 2015.  Previous shows have starred Australia’s most famous comediennes — from Judith Lucy to Wendy Harmer, Claire Hooper, Fiona O’Loughlin and Kitty Flanagan.

ActionAid works to empower women living in poverty around the world to stand up for their rights. These women are brave, resilient and, in spite their struggles, often draw on the strength of laughter. Let’s laugh with them!  There’s a high stress blog on the ActionAid site about the complexities of organizing one of these events.
