FIKA : THE SCANDINAVIAN PROJECT : ELYSIAN FIELDS TO GO INTO THE STUDIO

ELYSIAN FIELDS, led by Jenny Eriksson, is Australia’s only electric viola da gamba group. Since 2015 the group has been working to build the original repertoire which has the globally unique instrumentation of voice/violin, saxophones, electric viola da gamba, piano, bass guitar and drums.

The group has already released Australia’s first electric viola da gamba CD and in January 2020 the group heads to the studios to record FIKA their Scandinavian Project which consists of music from, and inspired by, Scandinavia. As you can see from Jenny Eriksson’s name, she has a Swedish background and has been fascinated by Swedish music for many years. The CD will be called FIKA which in Swedish refers to a  moment when you can slow down and enjoy the good things of life.

The group  have created a tax deductible account with the Australian Cultural Fund to assist the group with recording costs. Donations will be used to fund studio hire and recording contracts. This is the link if you are interested in making a donation:
