DAVID ATTENBOROUGH : A LIFE ON OUR PLANET : REVIEW

This is a film not to be missed. Sir David Attenborough has dedicated his life to the study of the natural world. Now in his early nineties he has made ‘Life On Our Planet, his witness statement, summing up his thoughts collected over his life’s work.

His fundamental thesis is that there has never been a more important time than now in the history of the planet. Attenborough says that if mankind continues to treat the planet the way that it is there will be no hope for the future. Further to the point now is our last chance to get things right.

The film features a lot of Attenborough talking directly to the camera expressing his grave concerns about the state of the planet. “We human beings have to learn how to live with nature rather than against it.” Attenborough also says that if mankind does die out, nature will still survive.

This was a fascinating documentary, well worth seeing. ‘David Attenborough : A Life On Our Planet’ starts in cinemas on the 28th September for a limited season.
