CARBON : THE UNAUTHORISED BIOGRAPHY

Maslow Entertainment has today announced the release date for CARBON: THE UNAUTHORISED BIOGRAPHY. Co-directed by Daniella Ortega and Niobe Thompson and narrated by Golden Globe winner Sarah Snook (Succession), the captivating documentary which tells the story of carbon – the most talked about but least understood element on Earth – is set to arrive in Australian cinemas nationally from March 31, 2022 for a limited time. The film will be distributed by Maslow Entertainment in partnership with Umbrella Entertainment.

Carbon is life, Carbon is us. Carbon is part of the air and the ground, the plants and the animals. It makes coal and diamonds. It built the planet and, as its concentration swells in the atmosphere, it is now also cooking it.

With Carbon in the news every day, you might think you know everything about her. But you’d be wrong. This spectacular and surprisingly unorthodox documentary reveals the paradoxical story of the element that builds all life, and yet may end it all.

Narrated in first person by Golden Globe winner Sarah Snook (Succession), CARBON: THE UNAUTHORISED BIOGRAPHY promises to transform how we think of Carbon, from maligned destroyer towards a powerful enabler. Accompanied by celebrated scientists including Neil deGrasse Tyson and Katharine Hayhoe, unique animation and a stunning orchestral score, this important and thought-provoking film reminds us of our humble participation in the most extraordinary story in the universe.

From Emmy Award-winning Australian company Genepool Productions and Sundance Award-winning Canadian filmmakers Handful of Films.
