BLANC DE BLANC ENCORE : RISQUE, ADULTS ONLY ENTERTAINMENT

[usr 3]

This is the return of the  show  BLANC DE BLANC ENCORE which had a successful run at the Sydney Opera House back in 2019.

It is a fun, high powered two hour show.  Just please note that the show is very risque and  if you are a bit of a prude or delicate, steer well clear.

There were two male emcees who I found a little underwhelming. One of them  felt the need to have his testicles  hanging out for the first segment. On well, whatever floats your boat?

Another  risque scene had both a male and female performer simulate masturbation. I found it a bit gross.

There was a big tease scene where all the cast were at the back of the stage naked. All that was covering them was white bathroom towels. As the music played ( there was a broad, loud spectrum of music played throughout the night. It was a shame that there wasn’t a live band) the performers kept on repositioning their towels without displaying any of their nakedness. Quite an art!

There was some wild Can Can dancing, entirely appropriate for a French cabaret. There was a  use of a large pole which saw the performer ‘fly’ around the stage with an open bottle of champagne in her hand. We  see her pour a bit of champagne in to one audience member’s glass, and then, further on, pour some champagne in to a guy’s open mouth.

Just for fun, the performers engaged  the audience in a  massive pillow  fight  with feathers flying everywhere. It was a great way  to go to interval!

My favourite routine of the night was a lovely romantic duet between one of the male and female performers as they flew up, holding on to the circus ring, and each other.

The star studded, internationally sourced cast with its numerous Cirque du Soleil alumni returns with Felix Pouliot from Canada, aerial duo Spencer Craig (Canada) and Caitlin Marion (USA), Remi Martin (Germany/France) and Rachelle Mansour, Melanie Hawkins from Australia, New Zealand’s Emma Phillips and Leah Wolff from Canada.

The performers showed themselves gifted as actors, singers and dancers.  My favourite rendition was of the classic pop song ‘I Put A Spell On You’.
