BLAK MARKETS FIND REGULAR HOME AT THE ROCKS

Blak Markets is pleased to announce that it has found a regular home at The Rocks with the kick off date being the weekend of Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August 2022.

The Blak Markets  are proudly supported by The Rocks and are a great opportunity to purchase authentic and unique gifts, knowing that 100% of the profits go back into Aboriginal communities.

Get the chance to meet the stall holders who are creating authentic, original and affordable Aboriginal artworks, beauty products, jewellery and unique homewares. You can also experience Indigenous culture through dance, singing and weaving workshops for everyone to join in.

According to CEO of First Hand Solutions Aboriginal Corporation, Peter Cooley, it’s so good to be back at The Rocks showcasing our culture and businesses in the best location in the City. “The Markets are a great way to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, the oldest continuing culture in the world,” Peter said.

Anita Mitchell Chief Executive of Placemaking NSW said, “Hosting Blak Markets is aligned to our responsibility for protecting and enhancing the cultural heritage of The Rocks.

“We are proud to be caretakers of the Tallawoladah precinct’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan and welcome our role in hosting Blak Markets where stall holders can showcase their unique products,” said Anita.

The Market will kick off with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony on the Saturday and runs 10am till 4pm Saturday and Sunday on the Tallawoladah Lawn at The Rocks
