ARTS THEATRE CRONULLA : BAREBOARDS 2022

Bareboards began in late 2010 as a way to provide members with additional
acting opportunities in addition to  Arts Theatre Cronulla’s  mainstream plays. Not all of its members have the time to dedicate to a mainstream play, which is about 5 months.  There are those times when Arts Theatre Cronualls members are just not right for the parts available so it can be a long time between gigs.
Arts Theatre Cronulla’s aim  is to provide opportunities for members to view interesting work,  get involved in smaller productions as techies, stage managers, actors and to present their own works as writers and directors.
Every member  is welcomed to submit their plays or register their interest to direct or act,
This year there are six plays:-
DOOR MATS ANONYMOUS:- Gina Gretel conducts a  self-awareness class for three attendees. There are a number of group exercises,  yet they don’t seem to go to Gina’s plan
GLORY DAYS :-Three middle aged ladies are part of a netball team that habitually loses. The male coach wants them to taste some of the glory he was destined for until his career collapsed. Can he convince them that winning is worth more than it seems?
IN BED:-Grieving at her dying mother’s bedside, Kate experiences a series of
dream-like encounters with famous figures who spent significant periods of their lives in bed.
ROAD RAGE:- Surf’s up and 2 friends head off for a fun day
at the beach, but what happens along the way is anything but fun.
WHAT’S FOR DINNER: –A woman is cooking her husband his favourite meal, a roast.  He comes home drunk, they argue, they fight.  She accidentally kills him.
The police arrive to investigate, but can’t find anything. It’s a puzzle.
WHEN WE WERE YOUNG: – A woman looks back on her life & examines the idea
of love punctuated by a passionate tango.
The Arts Theatre Cronulla’s production of Bareboards 2022 will play the theatre between the 23rd and 26th March at 8pm.
