Living with Art 2021 invites collectors, supporters and art enthusiasts to contribute to the survival of artists during this time of crisis by acquiring their art.
Building on the successful Covid-19 Art Project of 2020, the aim is to support artists and highlight the positive role art plays in homes and communities around Australia.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire artworks from a group of exceptionally talented artists at a fixed price of $950, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the artists.
Art Incubator has invited past and present grant recipients and Shirlow Street Studio artists to submit up to three artworks to Living with Art 2021. The exciting line up of artists includes Matt Bromhead, Will Cooke, Alice Couttoupes, Fernando do Campo, Stevie Field, David Griggs, Philjames, Eunjoo Jang, Tom Keukenmeester, Anna May Kirk, Nadia Odlum, Izabela Pluta, Georgia Saxelby and Tim Silver.
Living with Art 2021 will launch on the Art Incubator website on 10 August 2021 at 12pm.
Works will be available for purchase until 6pm 20 August 2021.
Art Incubator was established in 2014 by Teresa Biet as a support program for emerging Australian artists. Art Incubator not only provides a financial grant to selected artists, but also arranges solo exhibitions for the artists in established galleries as well as mentoring in professional practice. In 2019 Art Incubator established Shirlow Street Studios, a creative hub in Marrickville which provides subsidised studios for eight artists.
Art Incubator founder Teresa Biet said:
“Living with Art is about lighting up your corner of the world and advocating for our artists. Art can change you, very slowly, every day you live with it.”
