ANTENNA DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL : ANTENNA SELECTS

Antenna Documentary Film Festival   has launched Antenna Selects, an exciting new program of physical screenings and events, bringing the festival’s cutting-edge programming to Sydney audiences year-round. Screenings will take place at Palace’s  cinema.

Kicking off 3 September with an already-sold-out screening of Sundance Special Jury Prize winnerThe Painter and the Thief, Antenna Selects will premiere some of the best local and international documentaries all on the big screen, alongside Q&As and panel discussions.

The line-up includes the Australian Premiere of Gunda, directed by master filmmaker Viktor Kossakovsky and executive-produced by Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix, and the Sydney Premiere of Brazen Hussies, chronicling the Australian women behind one of the greatest social movements of the 20th century.

After selling out its initial session in a single week, Antenna has also just announced a second screening of the year’s most surprising and moving documentary, The Painter and the Thief

They have also added a second screening of the critically acclaimed Welcome to Chechnya, a chilling docu-thriller that exposes the ongoing purge of LGBTIQ+ people in Chechnya.
