WALK IN BEAUTY @ ACTORS PULSE THEATRE : COMPELLING THEATRE

WALK IN BEAUTY, curated and directed by Geoffrey Sykes with collaboration by Shabnam Tavakol, is an indelible theatrical production about the spiritual path of celebrating the sacredness of life. The tale casts light on how we feel physically and emotionally, and how we explore our own inner self in relation to everyone and the life around us, no matter the times.

It is a masterful poetical fusion narrating a tale of the past and present generations, each deeply rooted in their cultural landscape and the poems of early world cultures. Throughout its unmissable poetry and songs, this one actress performance is mesmerising. The poetry, music and dance by Shabnam Tavakol is an invitation to immerse your senses into a unique ritual. Shabnam’s presence on stage is mesmerising. While she dances with an admirable technical precision her expressions captivate the audience, and her energy fills the stage.

The blending of tradition with the original chanting, the images projected on the canvas create a unique atmosphere. The dance adds a depth and indicates that although time has moved traditional ways are not forgotten.

This 40-minute performance is captivating, full of energy and movement. The production, its artistry and language make it an compelling production. If missed in this season try to see on its next appearance.

WALK IN BEAUTY played the Actors’ Pulse Theatre between the 5th and the 21st July 2024.
