Lunar New Year is the time for Asian families to gather together at home or at outdoor venues to enjoy the feast.
All the Chinese restaurants in Dixon Street and the Haymarket area were bursting at the seams with diners.
In addition, Asian arch gates led various cuisines including Korean, Thai and Chinese.
The temporary street stalls also did a roaring trade and the wafts of Asian spices emanated from the open air cooking delighted both the nostrils as well as the eyes.
Accompanying all these festivities was a pumping Asian band.
