PIANIST EXTRAORDINAIRE IDA PELLICCIOLI ON TOUR : FROM SOUTH TO VIENNA

Hosted by the Italian Institute  of Culture, Ida Pelliccioli, pianist extraordinaire, is back to wow Australia with her new tour that explores the musical  landscape from the Baroque  to Early  Romanticism, revealing hidden gems alongside  celebrated masterpieces.

With a refined repertoire  and exceptional  musical sensitivity,  Ida took us on a sonic journey from Southern  Europe  to the heart of  Vienna – from Scarlatti  to Schubert, with stops along the way for Mozart and the rarely performed, yet captivating  Blasco de Nebra. It’s a classy musical narrative  shaped by depth, elegance  and rediscovery, blending overlooked composers  with the greats of classical tradition.

Ida is a native of Bergamo, Italy and studied at the Nice Conservatoire de Region and at Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris. During her studies she was awarded several scholarships, receiving  guidance  from Norma Fisher and Stephen Gutman and she is one of the  rare pianists to have received guidance  from the Cuban pianist Jorge Luis Prats.

Her gift is sublime as she took us on her odyssey  from Spanish keyboard music to the Viennese  classic style through  to the composer  Manuel  Blasco de Nebra, the inspiration  behind this  program.  Experiencing her expressive  and refined style, has made her a compelling  pianist pursuing exceptionalism in Chamber music and piano repertoire . She has performed  on all continents including  appearances  at the National  Gallery  in London,  the Royal Theatre  and Concert Hall in Nottingham  and the Lyceum  Club in Firenze in collaboration  with Amici della Musica di Firenze.

After the performance,  she confided that she is pursuing  a sommelier  certification  in order to develop  a project that pairs wines with the musical  repertoire she performs. Magic certainly was in the air.
