This is the latest solo show from Salem Barrett-Brown. It is a wild exploration of sex, drugs and gender roles. Salem will host a litany of different queer characters in a killer underground showcase, featuring; dance, sketch, strip tease, poetry, performance art and stand up. This hour of defiant comedy is not your average stand-up show, from one of Sydney’s only non-binary comedians.
A BIT ABOUT SALEM
Salem has over 5 years of experience across sketch comedy, stand-up and improv. She founded and hosts the monthly Birdcage Queer Comedy night, which was recently named one of the top 10 comedy rooms in Sydney by Time Out magazine. Salem is one third of queer collective Dumpster Diva’s, whose absurd sketch show featured in the Mardi Gras Festival this year. In addition to her time in comedy Salem is a trained actor, dancer and TV screenwriter, making her a dynamic performer. Open Dyke Night is her third solo show, bit nicer than the others.
