MISSION IMPOSSIBLE – THE FINAL RECKONING @ AUSTRALIAN CINEMAS from 17TH MAY 2025

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is thrillingly ambitious, and the best of the best, the Cinematic Tour de Force That Fully Redefines, the realms of Insanity and Gravity. Brace yourselves for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, that just isn’t merely a film, this film is a seismic event, a euphoric eruption of pure, unadulterated cinematic genius that will leave you gasping, weeping, and possibly questioning your life choices. Tom Cruise, that mostly ageless titan of tenacity, has once again flung himself headfirst into the annals of legend, delivering a film so audaciously spectacular, so deliriously thrilling, that it threatens to vaporize the very concept of “action cinema” as we know it. Move over, mortal filmmakers; Ethan Hunt has fully rewritten the James Bond rulebook for “parachute-free-fall”. Highly Recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

From the nanosecond that the iconic theme blares, and the score thunders like the wrath of a thousand symphonies, director Christopher McQuarrie plunges us into a maelstrom of high-stakes espionage ballet. Storytelling entertainment at its most operatically unhinged and within the magnificent labyrinthine tapestry of twists and double-crosses, multiple ticking clocks, and nuclear existential dread, all drenched in the kind of glamour that would make Hitchcock swoon into his martini. Dizzying waltz of plot twists, so sharp they could slice through diamond, yet anchored by emotional heft, that will have you clutching your pearls (and your neighbour’s arm).

Worship at the altar of Tom Cruise. He doesn’t merely perform practical stunts; he defies the limits of human endurance with a smirk. Tom Cruise’s Herculean practical feats, are a powerful artistic statement, and is a middle finger to both physics and to retirement. He is part demigod, his alchemy, the daredevil philosopher, and always asking, “Why drive, when you can sprint”.

A constellation of supporting cast brilliance. Hayley Atwell is a revelation, oozing wit and warrior-poet magnetism as she pirouettes between ally and enigma. Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames deliver quips and gravitas in equal measure. Esai Morales is the villain, delivering as the serpentine maestro of malice, so chillingly charismatic, that he could make Hannibal Lecter blush.

Christopher McQuarrie’s artful direction, provides action sequences with “Practically Perfected Panache”, and that delicate brilliance and versatility, is a masterstroke of precision. The frenzied and emotionally charged pandemonium-in-every frame, thrums with Hitchcockian pure suspense plus with operatic grandeur.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE – THE FINAL RECKONING is more than just spectacle; a poignant ode to the messy, glorious resilience of the human spirit. You will laugh, you will sob, plus you will forget to breathe. Enjoy the film’s beating heart; with the themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and humanity’s current dance with global annihilation via AI.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE – THE FINAL RECKONING isn’t just any magnificent lunatics movie, it is a spiritual experience, within the extraordinary and thrillingly ambitious world, that you have never seen before. The thunderous, soul-igniting crescendo that cements Tom Cruise, as our greatest modern myth-maker. Cancel your plans, mortgage all your pet fish, and sprint to the cinema. Just the year’s best film, and a glittering monument, to why we NEED movies to watch in cinemas. Now playing In Cinemas, and forever in my dreams.
