MISH WITTRUP – OFF WITH HER HEAD!

Mish Wittrup, according to her Google bio, is an Australian comedian. Her Google bio previously described her in mortifyingly embarrassing terms about occurrences from her university days. Mitt uses this embarrassing line to great effect during her very funny Sydney Comedy Festival 2025 show. She describes events, thoughts and experiences going back to her private school education days, her time working in a call centre, auditions and also her expertise with accounting software, with great comic results and has the audience continuously laughing.

Her use of a Powerpoint presentation supports and enhances the show and Mish is very funny in describing her struggles with technology, advice from other comics and her choice of images. Her observations and her apparently throwaway lines are thoughtfully woven into her well-constructed show. Her witty thoughts and jokes range from blatantly overt to wry but consistently have the crowd laughing and supporting her.

Part of her Powerpoint presentation analyses her level of intelligence. Mish is quite explicit about topics and areas where she has thorough knowledge and superior expertise. She is equally as definitive about her blatant failings and shocking inadequacies. As well as being very amusing these topics give the show substance and lift the evening above just being a string of jokes.

Off With Her Head includes more information than most people need to know about heartthrob Julian Casablancas from The Strokes, an apparently cool and mysterious co-worker and his Rubik cube, and reliable and otherwise sources of sex education. There is even a musical interlude with a rap song about her wonderful boyfriend.

Mish Wittrup performed at The Factory Theatre and has one show remaining (Sunday 4th May). It is highly recommended. Mish also recommended seeing shows where you have not heard of the performers as this is where the gems can be. She specifically recommended Lena Moon (10th and 11th May at The Enmore Theatre).
