METRO STATION ARTWORK : WORTH TRAVELLING TO SEE

Many overseas countries have turned their underground train stations in to works of art. Paris is famous for the artwork in its Metro and Moscow’s chanderliered ceiling is a mecca for tourists round the world with the benefit that the subway  opens up in Red Square.

St James and Museum station have lovely tiled work from the 1930s and  1940s.  It was with this historical legacy that the new Metro subway’s entrances were to be adorned with especially commissioned art.

The Metro subway line is incomplete but here are some of the artworks which adorn the completed Metro station.
