It was pleasing to see that DANCE RITES, after a Covid induced break, returned to its spiritual home in the form of a sandpit performing area in the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House.
Indigenous dance companies from all parts of Australia, such as the Tiwi islands Western Australia, Orange and the South Coast, came together to compete for the title of best Dance Rites performer.
The charm of this exhibition was that the participants ranged from the very young to the elderly, occasionally accompanied by traditional songs.
