I’m an opal miner’s daughter who grew up living the clichéd, outback childhood. Yes, I did have a pet kangaroo: a joey that never grew up. Yes, there were dingoes. And yes, they took our pet baby…goat and the joey. Sadly, there wasn’t broadcast TV. So I indulged in dreaming. I still do.
In my 20s I ran away from a conventional suburban Sydney existence to the theatre – several times. I even studied theatre and film at Uni (UNSW) and Fine Art and Jewellery at TAFE. Now I just blog about it at www.craftytheatre.wordpress.com .
I love storytelling on the page and on the stage. A history and Sci-fi buff, the next time I run away, I hope it’s in the Tardis.
