Suspenseful lighting highlight a gaming table where a deck of cards is shuffled and flipped to a tableaux of characters whose cards are only part of the game and no one seems, interested in following the rules. Theirs is a world where fortunes change in an instant, secrets rarely stay hidden, and clothing becomes optional. With presenter extraordinaire Frankie’s inviting patter we are invited to the late-night world of temptation, mischief and fast-paced beautiful chaos.
Between the flirtation, the fire, aerial artistry and burlesque, the night quickly spirals into something far more entertaining than a poker game. Its a glitzy, seductive world which is completely off-leash, with fiery personalities clashing alongside aerial stunts, terrible decisions that happily contribute to a Las Vegas arena of nudity and adult themes.
The show has a big wow factor from this reviewer immersed in the jaw-dropping feats of skill, strength and beauty that are fiery, literally fuelling stunts and comedy glorious under one roof. Its an amalgam of wickedly juicy showmanship harnessing circus, cabaret, dance, magic, with singing to create an absorbing, pleasurable performance of a classy order. I loved the raw, vibrant energy on show from the opening scene to the memorable finish. Its infectious, with every sketch offering clever and imaginative and dynamic staging, making excellent use of the performance space. Colourful costumes reveal skin-aplenty, enhanced by fluid choreography and bold lighting which enhance the engagement.
DEAL ME IN! is an exhilarating, thought-provoking, theatrical experience capturing the spirit that inspires entertainers, leaving a magical impression long after the final curtain call. The dancing is dazzling with the circus acts visually unforgettable , all pulsating to the musical score. One moment, the audience erupts at the antics of the comics, than quickly chanting oohs and aahs with waves of laughter, the energy rippling with a carnival atmosphere. Then, hushed and stunned silence follows the aerial acrobatics, hurling themselves through their routines, suspending the audience in momentary disbelief. The energy is electrifying mirrored in acts of astonishing physical mastery.
The inner world of the gambler- the innocence, vulnerability, loneliness and laughter mingles with the live and warmth of the cast, making for a production that is breathtaking. What DEAL ME IN! does brilliantly is remind audiences why live performances matter. In an age dominated by screens and digital reality, this show creates genuine awe through human skill, trust, timing and imagination that brings every leap, dance routine and feats, metres from the audience.
