Sydney’s vibrant independent theatre scene is set for a powerful new interpretation of OTHELLO, presented by La Fábrica de Microbios and Gente Perdida, at Flight Path Theatre.
Directed by Diana Paola Alvarado, this fiercely physical and emotionally raw production offers a bold feminist lens on Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy.
Featuring an all-female presenting cast, this OTHELLO interrogates who has the power to speak, to feel, and to tell stories. By casting women in traditionally male roles and emphasising embodied performance, the production is set to offer a visceral exploration of power, race, gender, and violence in today’s world.
Spoken language gives way to choreography and physical storytelling in this innovative staging. Alvarado’s direction is rooted in movement and visual theatre, resulting in an experience that is haunting, poetic, and emotionally immediate.
