This concert was a celebration of  the legendary Broadway  musical partnership of composer Richard Rodgers (1902 – 1979) and librettist/lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II (1895 – 1960),

The Sydney Philharmonia’s Symphony chorus and chamber singers joined a  cast of leading Australian musical theatre stars each at the top of their craft; (Ashleigh Rubenach, direct from Sunset Boulevard; multi award-winning Johanna Allen; The Ten Tenors’ Daniel Belle; and Rob McDougall, whose stage credits include appearances at New York’s famous Birdland Cabaret Club and Carnegie Hall), and the full Sydney Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Brett Weymark OAM.

The concert was an encore to the Choirs’ sell-out 2023 Golden Age of Broadway concert, which played to a jam-packed Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.

It was great to hear so many memorable Rodgers amd Hammerstein tunes so beautifully performed at the Town Hall. It has been such a long time since I’ve been to a concert at the Town Hall, a venue which has a lovely quality all of its own.

Tbis was the program from the night.
